Happy Release Day to Us

Girl v. Boy is on the shelves!

As anyone who’s read our “Vivien Leigh Reid” series or The Black Sheep knows, our books often have a Hollywood slant. This is mainly because Yvonne works in the film business and we’re both fascinated by that world. But this time, we’ve left Hollywood behind. You won’t find any flighty actors, demanding directors, or pushy producers in Girl v. Boy.

In this book, our “star” is Luisa Perez, an ordinary teen in an ordinary high school who gets to do something slightly out of the ordinary: write an anonymous column in the school paper.

Anonymous is the key word, here.

While Lu has never been one for strong opinions, once she has a pen in her hand and the alias, "Newshound," she has a lot to say—mostly about guys. Some of it is controversial, but who can blame her when her male counterpart, "Scoop" is a total jerk? He uses the column to insult Newshound and brag about his romantic exploits. Lu retaliates by bragging about her own love life. So what if she exaggerates a little? It’s not like anyone will ever find out who's behind the column. Because if they did, well, Lu would be in BIG trouble. Especially with her boyfriend.

One girl, one guy, two anonymous columns in the school newspaper. Watch the sparks fly!

To celebrate release day, we’ll give away a free copy of Girl v. Boy. Send us an e-mail or leave a comment and we’ll enter your name in the draw.
