HOME SWEET HOME

Greetings cyber-friends, and welcome to our new Internet home!

We’re excited to be moving into the neighborhood, and grateful to Heidi at Xuni.com for designing a fabulous place to hang out. Please bear with us as we get settled into our new digs. We haven’t hung all the pictures yet, but there’s already a virtual sofa waiting for you to take a load off and learn all about our books and our exciting lives.

Actually, our lives aren’t always that exciting and there’s nothing like a blog to make that painfully obvious. In fact, anyone who’s checked us out at Amazon Connect or Myspace, knows we haven’t been the best bloggers on the block. But it’s a new year and we’ve made a resolution to unclog the blog and communicate more regularly.

Here at Chez Collinsrideout, communication is a two-way street, so we’re hoping you’ll take a moment to hit Contact Us. Tell us what you think about our books. Or send a question you want us to answer. As long as it’s not about age, weight, or royalty statements, we’ll do our best to answer.

And no, we won’t always speak with one voice, although that’s how it works with the books. Yvonne will probably tell a few stories about her life on film sets (changing names to protect the not-so-innocent). Sandy will avoid stories about her life at work since she already used the best ones in Speechless (although, officially, that book was complete and utter fiction). But she does commit to finishing the “how we got published” series she started over on myspace.

For the moment, we’ll share our latest news... First, we have book coming out in just three weeks! It’s called The New and Improved Vivien Leigh Reid: Diva in Control and it’s the third book in our series about an aspiring actress and her trials and tribulations in the film business. You won’t have to look too hard for it in bookstores: the orange cover catches the eye.

Just 10 weeks after that, we have another book coming out. Called The Black Sheep, it’s about a Manhattan teen who spends the summer with California hippies as part of a reality television show. This book has it all: Love! Laughter! Heartache! Sea Otters! What do sea otters have to do with black sheep? Read the book to find out.

And as always, we have something in production. In fact, we’re pretty close to finishing our next book, tentatively titled Word for Word. If all goes as planned, it will be out in Spring 2008. Sandy’s getting a bit cranky about the approaching deadline, because she’s the one who gives a manuscript its final polish. In other words, it’s her fault if it’s late. So while she’s buffing, Yvonne will entertain you.

In the meantime, thanks so much for dropping by. And remember, our doors are always open!
